    The Hillsborough County Community Violence Prevention Collaborative, now known as Safe & Sound Hillsborough County, was created in the summer of 2013 as an initiative to transform the way local policy makers address violence. This initiative shifts policy from a public safety to a public health model and aligns community and professional stakeholders to develop a comprehensive prevention and intervention approach.

  31. Children's Services Advisory Board Incident Review Committee Meeting

    This committee meets the fourth Wednesday of each month to review incidents and work with the staff at Children’s Services to track patterns of incident reports.

    This Board examines and advises division management on the development and operation of programs that treat children with special needs.   35. Tourist Development Council Meeting

    This is the regular quarterly meeting of the TDC. This Council prepares a tourist development plan for the Board of County Commissioners, recommends uses for the tourist development tax revenue, and monitors trust fund spending. It also makes recommendations to the Commissioners for developing tourism in the area.

    Hillsborough County residents are encouraged to safely dispose of household chemicals and other hazardous waste by taking them to our collection events for proper disposal. Electronics and paint are accepted at any of our Community Collection Centers six days a week (Monday to Saturday). For more information, call the Solid Waste Customer Service Center at 813-272-5680 (option 1).

  2. Meet with Commissioner Beckner at his Community Office Hours

    August 12, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Jimmie B. Keel Regional Library

    Hillsborough County Commissioner Kevin Beckner, District 6, Countywide, is hosting office hours in the community one day every month in locations around the county. These events provide residents the opportunity to meet with the Commissioner, one-on-one, to share ideas and voice concerns without having to travel to County Center in downtown Tampa. No appointment is necessary and residents are seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
