  1. Compost Happens, Water-Wise and Rain Barrel Workshop-Hillsborough County Residents

    November 3, 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM @ 5339 County Road 579

    This registration site is for residents of Hillsborough County ONLY. If you live in another county, please go to 2011 Compost Happens, Water-Wise and Rain Barrel Workshop (Non-Hillsborough County Residents) to register for these workshops. 8:30 AM - Attend a Compost Happens Workshop and learn to turn trash to treasure. You'll receive a free compost bin and thermometer too (1 per household and the representative of the household must be an adult )*! 9:30 AM - The Water-Wise workshop will teach you how you can have a healthy and attractive lawn and landscape while conserving water. Tips on installing and using micro-irrigation are also presented. This irrigation method not only conserves water, but is not as restricted by current water restrictions as traditional in-ground irrigation systems! Hillsborough County residents may receive 1 free micro-irrigation kit* (per household and the representative of the household must be an adult) when they attend a workshop.

  2. Carrollwood Cultural Center Presents Music Reborn

    November 3, 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ 4537 Lowel Road

    Music Reborn is a project focusing on the research, performance and preservation of music suppressed by the Nazis during the first of the 20th Century. This includes both Jewish and non-Jewish composers from across Europe. Music Reborn is dedicated to the goal of revisiting a lost generation of composers by preserving and playing their works. This year’s Music Reborn program will include pieces in the classical style of the late 1800s and 1900s, salon-style pieces and klezmer, as well as more popular pieces like a tango composed in the Yiddish style. == The Carrollwood Cultural Center is a partnership between Hillsborough County and the Friends of Carrollwood Cultural Center.   1. Ruskin Recreation Center Youth Flag Football and Cheerleading!

    October 1 - December 1 @ Ruskin Park

    A team sport to encourage self esteem, recreation, and physical activity. For boys and girls ages 5 – 12. Each child will receive a shirt and trophy. Registration begins Sept. 17. Youth Leagues begin October 1.     Registration going on now. Games: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.; Beginning, Tuesday, Oct. 23 Hillsborough County’s Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department is looking for players 16 years old or above to compete in a Full Court Basketball League.
