    This committee meets on a monthly basis and serves in an advisory capacity to the Hillsborough County Civil Service Board concerning personnel matters, policies, Civil Service rules, and other policies affecting employees within the classified service.   5. Carrollwood Cultural Center To Host A Preview Of Its 2013 Classes

    December 13, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM @ 4537 Lowell Road

    The Carrollwood Cultural Center, located at 4537 Lowell Road in Tampa, will host an open house and class preview on Dec. 13 from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. Admission is FREE, and attendees who register for a class during the open house will receive a five percent discount. Classes will be offered in art, ceramics, computers, dance, etiquette, fitness, music, photography, theater and woodcarving. The Center will also introduce a class in women’s self defense, and one in martial arts for children. Most classes run once a week for six weeks and vary in cost. The Center will host seven class sessions in 2013, with the first starting January 9.

Parks, Recreation & Conservation

  1. Adult Basketball League at University Area Community Park

    Registration going on now. Games: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.; Beginning, Tuesday, Oct. 23 Hillsborough County’s Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department is looking for players 16 years old or above to compete in a Full Court Basketball League.
