The Fred B. Karl County Center is the 28-story building located Kennedy Boulevard and Pierce Street in downtown Tampa. The 28-story building is the central office for the Board of County Commissioners, most Constitutional officers, the County Administrator, and houses more than 25 county departments and agencies.
Parking
There is metered parking along the streets, as well as hourly parking in the Pierce Street garage and private parking lots in the area. The metered spots are using new solar-powered pay stations that will make visiting downtown much easier. The pay stations accept nickels, dimes, quarters, and dollar coins as well as Visa and MasterCard credit or debit cards. The entrance to the Pierce Street garage is on Jackson Street; the exit is onto Pierce Street.

- From Northern Hillsborough County via I-275 southbound:
- Take I-275 south to EXIT 45A toward DOWNTOWN EAST-WEST
- Take the JEFFERSON STREET ramp toward DOWNTOWN/EAST
- Stay in left lane of the exit ramp
- Merge with PIERCE STREET after several blocks
- After the merge, the COUNTY CENTER building will be about FIVE BLOCKS further ON THE RIGHT-hand side
- From Northern Hillsborough County via Dale Mabry:
- Take Dale Mabry south to I-275 northbound.
- Take EXIT 44 toward DOWNTOWN EAST/DOWNTOWN WEST
- Take the SCOTT STREET ramp toward DOWNTOWN-EAST
- Stay STRAIGHT to go onto E SCOTT STREET
- Turn RIGHT onto N ORANGE AVENUE
- Merge with PIERCE STREET after several blocks
- After the merge, the COUNTY CENTER building will be about FIVE BLOCKS further ON THE RIGHT-hand side
- From Southern Hillsborough County via I-75 northbound or Highway 301 northbound:
- Take route to either the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway or Adamo Drive (S.R. 60)
- Follow instructions for those routes
- From Eastern Hillsborough County via the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway (Also known as the "Crosstown"):
- Merge onto LEE ROY SELMON EXPY/SR-618-TOLL W (Portions toll)
- Take the SR-60 exit, EXIT 8, toward DOWNTOWN-EAST
- The Exit Ramp merges with KENNEDY BOULEVARD
- Follow KENNEDY BOULEVARD, WEST TWO BLOCKS
- The COUNTY CENTER building will be ON THE LEFT-hand side
- From Eastern Hillsborough County via Adamo Drive (S.R. 60):
- Take ADAMO DRIVE to CHANNELSIDE DRIVE
- Turn left on CHANNELSIDE DRIVE
- Follow CHANNELSIDE DRIVE four blocks to KENNEDY BOULEVARD
- Turn RIGHT on KENNEDY BOULEVARD
- Pass Expressway overpass
- The COUNTY CENTER building will be about FOUR BLOCKS ON THE LEFT-hand side
- From Eastern Hillsborough County via I-4:
- Take I-4 west to the junction with I-275 southbound
- Take EXIT 45A toward DOWNTOWN EAST-WEST
- Take the JEFFERSON STREET ramp toward DOWNTOWN/EAST
- Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto N. ORANGE AVENUE
- Merge with PIERCE STREET after several blocks
- After the merge, the COUNTY CENTER building will be about FIVE BLOCKS further ON THE RIGHT-hand side
- From West Hillsborough County via I-275 northbound:
- Take EXIT 44 toward DOWNTOWN EAST/DOWNTOWN WEST
- Take the SCOTT STREET ramp toward DOWNTOWN-EAST
- Stay STRAIGHT to go onto E SCOTT STREET
- Turn RIGHT onto N ORANGE AVENUE
- Merge with PIERCE STREET after several blocks

- From Western Hillsborough County (South Tampa) via the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway:
- Merge onto LEE ROY SELMON EXPY/SR-618-TOLL W (Portions toll)
- Take the PLATT ST/CHANNELSIDE DR exit, EXIT 6A-B, on the LEFT toward DOWNTOWN-EAST
- Take LEFT LANE when the exit splits into two
- Turn LEFT AT THE LIGHT at the bottom of the ramp onto MORGAN STREET
- After Expressway overpass, the COUNTY CENTER will be about THREE BLOCKS AHEAD ON THE RIGHT-hand side
- From Western Hillsborough County via Kennedy Boulevard:
- Take KENNEDY BOULEVARD east to ASHLEY STREET
- Turn RIGHT on ASHLEY STREET
- Turn LEFT onto E. JACKSON STREET
- Turn LEFT onto N. JEFFERSON STREET
- Turn LEFT onto E. KENNEDY BOULEVARD
- The COUNTY CENTER building will be ON THE RIGHT-hand side
