The Affordable Housing Department, in partnership with its seven nonprofit housing partners, currently has an inventory of fully-rehabilitated homes available to sell to eligible households through its Neighborhood Stabilization Program. These homes are available for sale to households that make less than 120% of area median income. Eligible households also could receive additional downpayment assistance worth 50 perent of the cost of the home.
Homes are available for sale in the USF area, Orient Park area, Clair Mel/ Palm River/ Progress Village area, Town ‘N Country, Gibsonton and Plant City.
Improvements on homes include programmable thermostats, extra insulation, Double EE windows, energy-efficient air conditioning units and water heaters, low-flush toilets, caulking and sealing of the homes and xeriscaping. They also include standard maintenance, such as newly pumped-out septic tanks and cleaned-out sewer lines.
