Bart Banks was appointed to the position of Acting Director of Aging Services in January 2007. He brought a broad range of experiences, qualities and skills, which enhanced his ability to oversee such a diverse and dynamic section of County government. Before joining Aging Services, Bart was employed by the Health and Social Services Department as Division Director of Social Services. At his former position, he was responsible for overseeing the provision of services to clients in need of services such as health care, financial assistance, housing assistance, employment assistance, transportation, case management, and other supportive services.

Bart's entire 30 year professional career has been with departments under the Board of County Commissioners. Bart is a graduate of the University of South Florida. He is also a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary and pastors the St. John Progressive MBC. He and his wife Vanessa enjoy spending time with their four grown children and four grandchildren.
