Missing Something?
Search Lost Pet Online Database
Every year more than 25,000 pets become temporary
guests of Hillsborough County's Animal Services. Some pets are
brought in by their owners. Some are picked up by Animal Service's
Officers. Some are brought in by concerned and/or disgruntled
neighbors. Some are brought to Animal Services because they are
sick, injured or have bitten someone.
If your pet is missing you should always visit Animal Services
as one of the first steps to recovering your pet. Please
visit Animal Services at
440 Falkenburg Road . Our Hours are Tuesday - Friday 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., and Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Animal Services is Closed Sunday, Monday, and holidays
At any time up to 400 animals are provided care at the shelter.
We cannot positively identify your pet over the phone. You must
identify your pet in person.
If the pet is wearing a Hillsborough County rabies
registration tag, Animal Services will attempt to contact the
owner. The cost to redeem your dog or cat will depend on whether
it is habitually at large, is spayed or neutered, is vaccinated,
and has a current registration tag. If a cat is not wearing its tag,
it must be microchipped or tattooed.
Now Hillsborough County's Animal Services offers
another tool to help you find your lost pet.

Owners will also have to pay boarding fees of $12 daily ($20 daily if under quarantine or investigation), and have rabies vaccinations and registration tags brought up-to-date. In order to return animals to their owners and identify repeat offenders, Animal Services may require the animal be microchipped before it is released. The fee for microchipping, if done at Animal Services, is $25. If the animal was sick or injured when brought in to Animal Services and required emergency medical care, the owner must also reimburse the medical fees incurred by the County. Fees can be paid by check up to a total of $150. Balances over $150 must be paid with cash or credit/debit card (Master Card, Visa, or Discover) only.
Note: The same fees apply to cats, but cats don't have to wear tags outdoors, if their microchip or tattoo is registered with Animal Services.
We will require proof of your identification and your current physical address prior to redemption. For more information, please call (813) 744-5660.
