| Hillsborough County Commissioners present nine awards
throughout the year to a residents, organizations or associations
for a variety of reasons - but they all encompass contribution to
our community.
These recipients are recognized for
their selflessness, triumph, courage and innovation, and they
are examples to all residents.

| Favorite Sons & Daughters Award |

| In 1995, the Hillsborough Board of County Commissioners established the annual Favorite Sons/Daughters Award to recognize individuals
who have achieved honor and distinction either nationally or internationally in their field of endeavor. A ceremony and plaque
is prepared in honor of the recipient and presented during a regular Commission meeting in October or November of every year.
Eligibility
- Any resident of Hillsborough County.
- Those who were born in Hillsborough County but are not current residents.
Selection Process
Nominations are made by members of the Board of County Commissioners at any time throughout the year. The Chair forwards these
nomination forms to the Citizen Advisory Committee. In September, the CAC makes a recommendation for the Commission's vote.
