Mark Sharpe is a Tampa native elected to the County Commission in 2004. Prior to his election, he had 8-year tenure as an active-duty officer in the U.S. Navy. He retired after two decades of service, which includes 12 years in the U.S. Naval Reserves. Sharpe also worked as a development officer for a private school, as a government relations consultant and served on the county's Citizens Advisory Committee. Receiving his bachelor's degree in multinational business from Florida State University, he earned a master's degree in strategic studies from the University of South Florida. He is married and has three children.
