Kevin White is a Tampa native who attended King High School and received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Tampa College. He also received a business management degree from National-Louis University and a master's degree in organizational management from the University of Phoenix.

Prior to being elected to the County Commission in 2006, White served on the Tampa City Council beginning in 2003. He also was a police officer with the Tampa Police Department, an auxiliary deputy with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office and served in the U.S. Navy. He is married to Jennie White, and they have two children.
