Hillsborough County Commission Redistricting Committee

When the U.S. Census is completed every ten years, the Hillsborough County Charter requires reapportionment of the County Commission's single-member districts, districts 1 through 4, to ensure that the districts represent an equal number of residents.

This reapportionment must be completed 120 days after Hillsborough County receives the certified results of the U.S. Census on the county's population and distribution. County Commissioners approved a new map on July 12, 2001, and the U.S. Department of Justice precleared the map on December 5, 2001, making the adopted map below effective on that date.

These webpages will provide background information on the redistricting process, the adopted new Commission district map that you can open and view below, all of the optional maps that were created during the process to show possible redistricting results, and an e-mail form to allow you to comment on the process.

If you have any questions or would like more information, please call the Community Relations Division at (813) 272-5275.
