Children Services
Children Services has served Hillsborough County residents for more than 40 years. The program provides both residential and outpatient services for youth. We treat both our staff and the youth we serve with respect they need and deserve. Everyone is given opportunities for self-exploration and to develop a sense of belonging within an environment that is safe and nurturing.

Mission
To empower and protect children, young adults and families within Hillsborough County.

Vision
Our vision is to be the nationally acclaimed premier provider in prevention, intervention and regulatory services.

Values

  • The Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Citizenship and Caring™ and the Seven Dimensions of Health and Wellness form the basic framework for addressing and improving the well-being of the children, young adults, families, and staff.

  • The Six Pillars of Character are ethical values that guide program decision-making as well as overall practices. These values drive the program culture and provide structure for individual accountability.

  • While individuals and families often face challenges in a variety of areas, understanding the ways in which crisis and trauma have the potential to impact every day activities is critical to treatment. By using a health and wellness approach to address these traumas, the organization can provide a pathway to a better quality of life.

  • These wellness dimensions include; social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, occupational, physical and environmental wellness (Roscoe, 2009). This holistic, multidimensional approach seeks to maximize personal potential by placing responsibility on the individual to participate in activities that focus on continuous self-evaluation and self-assessment.

  • All Children’s Services programs are accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA). COA is an international, independent, nonprofit, human service accrediting organization. COA recognizes programs that provide excellence in the delivery of services to individuals, youth, and communities.
