Since coming to the Office of Public Affairs in 1995, Edith Stewart
has represented the County Administration before the State and
Federal Governments and has worked on numerous issues with locally
elected officials from the three cities and the School Board.
As staff to the Board of County Commissioners Citizens Advisory
Committee, the Hillsborough County Council of Governments, the
Hillsborough County Commission on the Status of Women, the Florida
Association of Counties, the National Association of Counties, and
the Hillsborough County Hospital Authority; the Office of Public
Affairs deals with issues that touch the lives of citizens on a
daily basis. Other County responsibilities have included staffing
the Joint BOCC/School Board Task Force on Growth Management, the
Committee of '99, and the Blue Ribbon Committee on County Finance.
Prior to joining the County Administrator's organization, Edith
worked for the Supervisor of Elections, for the Children's Board,
and for a member of the Florida House of Representatives.
