| The Nuisance Abatement Board is a quasi-judicial board consisting of seven
citizens of Hillsborough County who are appointed by the Board of County
Commissioners for three- year terms. This board has the power to declare
properties that house prostitution, controlled substance activity, and youth
gang activity a "public nuisance", as defined in Florida
Statutes 893.138 and County Ordinance 98-45.
Cases are referred to this board from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's
office and board hearings are scheduled as needed. The case files are kept
in the Citizen Boards Support office.
