Hillsborough County offices under the Board of County Commissioners will CLOSE on Friday, Oct. 30, the first of five furlough days that have been scheduled throughout the next fiscal year:
Friday, Jan. 15, 2010
Friday, April 2, 2010
Friday, June 18, 2010
Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010
Emergency services, wastewater plants, solid waste collection and some children's services will not be affected by these furlough closures. They will affect all other Hillsborough County services, including Head Start centers, libraries, parks and recreation centers, neighborhood service centers and senior centers. In addition, book drop-off stations at libraries will not be in service.
This closure will save Hillsborough County an estimated $700,000 in personnel costs.
Satellite offices for constitutional offices, such as the Clerk of the Circuit Court, Property Appraiser and the Tax Collector, may be open Oct. 30, even if they are collocated with Hillsborough County offices. Residents should call these respective offices to verify their hours of operations before traveling.
