Informal education for young people 8-18 years of age to "learn
by doing".
Programs are offered as monthly club meetings, school enrichment,
after-school programs, and special interest groups. |
Family and Consumer Sciences
Programming for the family, including parenting, interpersonal
relationships, food/nutrition and health, consumer education and
home environment. |
Agriculture
Liaison between the University of Florida and local growers/agribusiness,
disseminating research-based information and practical applications.
Specialties include: ornamental horticulture, dairy, poultry,
citrus, fruits and vegetables, and public policy. |
Urban Home/Professional Horticulture
Programming for homeowners and yard maintenance professionals on the
recommended Best Management Practices (BMP's) of lawn/yard care,
including composting/recycling and water conservation. Professional
horticulture includes commercial landscape, pest control, municipal,
and retail nurseries.
