The application deadline for the most recent Request for Application (RFA) was January 31, 2017. We are currently in the phase of selecting grant recipients. You can find the grant proposals received and preliminary proposal ranking below in the Results section.

The primary objective of the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) program is to provide a range of services and activities having a measurable and potentially major impact on poverty in the communities where poverty is a particularly acute problem. Social Services is accepting applications for the 2017 CSBG.


Organizations must meet the following minimum requirements:
  • A non-profit agency  
  • Legally authorized to receive Federal Grant funds
  • Registered to do business in the State of Florida
  • Not be debarred or suspended in any Florida County
  • Provide 3 consecutive years of positive programmatic outcomes
  • Administer its program in Hillsborough County
Any party on the Excluded Parties List System will be considered ineligible for funding.

Things To Consider

Successful applications must address:

  • Summer Employment and Job Placement Services for Youth
  • Fatherhood, Parenting and Development Training
  • Juvenile Crime Prevention and Intervention Services

Applications for funding must also:

  • Meet the guidelines and minimum requirements provided in the RFA

How To

  1. Gather the following:
    • Staff resumes
    • Program details
    • Program timetable – 10 months of program services with a 30 day reporting period
    • Program budget detail to include both requested and other supporting funds
    • List of all funds received from other sources include funding source name, Department, amount and
      program name or purpose
    • 3 consecutive years of program outcomes/ performance reports
    • Sample invoice and support documentation
