Actions Speak Louder Than Words So We Cut About a Million

Hillsborough County, Fla. (Sept. 16, 2016) - The County has redesigned its website to be easier to use and more mobile-friendly.

With the new website comes a new, streamlined address, HCFLGov.net. Visitors to the former HillsboroughCounty.org address will be automatically redirected to the new site.

In an effort to make the site more customer-focused, the web team created models of the most frequent online visitors and identified the types of information they were most likely to be seeking.

The result is a more intuitive website. Parents can navigate in a few clicks to lists of local parks and recreation programs. Companies can easily locate information on permits or how to do business with the County, and residents can quickly find out their garbage pickup days and what items are recyclable.

Research showed increasing numbers of people come to the website through a mobile device, so HCFLGov.net was designed to be easily accessible by cellphone, tablet, or laptop. A mom picking up her children after class can now find a list of nearby County parks with playgrounds - all while waiting in the school parking lot.

The site also is adaptable by allowing users to rate web pages. The feedback will allow the County to continuously make the site even more user-friendly for years to come.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to log on to HCFLGov.net to see for themselves the site's new features and design.
