More than 200 to Volunteer at Children's Services Campus

Hillsborough County, Fla. (Sept. 29, 2016) - An estimated 250 United Way HandsOn Suncoast volunteers will descend on Hillsborough County's Children's Services campus on Friday, Sept. 30, to work on multiple projects to improve the lives of the youth served there.

Among other tasks, volunteers will repair a gazebo, improve the rock garden, and renovate the clothing closet, which provides free clothing to those served by Children's Services. The work is being done as part of United Way's Day of Caring project, which culminates Oct. 6 with numerous service projects across the region.

Children's Services provides residential and outpatient services for hundreds of youth in Hillsborough County through Children in Need of Services (CINS) and Families in Need of Services (FINS) programs.

Members of the media are invited to attend Friday's volunteer event. Please note: To protect their privacy, Children's Services youth should not be identified by name or be identifiable in any photos or video.
