Public Workshops Scheduled for Fair Housing Issues
Hillsborough County, Fla. (Sept. 21, 2016) - Hillsborough County, the City of Tampa, and the Tampa Housing Authority invite the public to provide input on fair housing issues through a series of public workshops and an online survey.
Hillsborough County's Affordable Housing Services is hosting a series of community meetings to inform the public about the Assessment of Fair Housing (AFH).
The online AFH survey is open to Hillsborough County residents, landlords, real estate professionals, lending institutions, housing providers, and other stakeholders, and is available through Oct. 9. To complete the survey, select one of the following links:
The Assessment of Fair Housing is required every five years by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and is designed to help communities and housing authorities prevent and combat discrimination, foster inclusiveness, and remove barriers to opportunity based on race, color, religion, sex, familial status, national origin, disability, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression.

The County also will conduct a public hearing on the Regional Assessment of Fair Housing at 10 a.m. on Oct. 19 during the regularly scheduled Board of County Commissioners meeting on the second floor of County Center, 601 E. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa, FL 33602.
