No-Cost Kitty Adoptions This Week

Hillsborough County, Fla. (November 29, 2017) - Adopt a furry feline for free all this week at Hillsborough County's Pet Resource Center.

The shelter currently is home to more than 180 cats and kittens, a higher number than normal for this time of year. To help find permanent, loving homes for the felines, the County will eliminate all fees for cat adoption through Sunday, Dec. 3.

Costs normally are $20 for ready-to-go for cats and kittens that have been spayed or neutered and microchipped, or $70 for pre-adoption.

Pets are a wonderful addition to a home at any time of the year, but Pet Resources officials urge residents not to surprise a family member or friend with a dog or cat as a Christmas gift without substantial planning and research. Ask for assistance from one of our trained staff if seeking a gift pet this holiday season. Pets are a long-term commitment, and finding the perfect dog or puppy, cat or kitten should be a joyful process handled together as a family.
