Support Services Mission Statement
Our role is to support the agencies and departments that provide services to and interact with our ultimate customers, the citizens of our community. We deliver facilities support services with demonstrated cost effectiveness – ensuring clean, comfortable, safe and healthy environments.
Custodial Contract Management
James D’Alvia, Senior Supervisor coordinates the daily efforts of our custodial contract providers. He and his staff inspect the work performed and ensure conformance to our standards. Facilities Support Services manages custodial operations in 67 buildings and 2.35 million square feet of space. Facilities are cleaned on 2, 3, 5, 6, or 7 day rotating schedules with a variety of services offered. Operations are normally performed during evening hours but several locations require special daytime cleaning. With some variation the scope of services provided at each facility is standard and consistent. We support all of the downtown Courts related facilities and public Libraries. One custodial contract is a Small Business Enterprise set-aside.

Custodial Operations
Ron Myrick, Senior Supervisor coordinates our internal daytime custodial operations. We provide enhanced or supplemental daytime cleaning at 9 downtown Tampa properties including but not limited to, County Center, the Edgecomb Courthouse, Hillsborough County Courthouse and their support facilities – over 1.3 million square feet of space. These structures are some of the busiest public facilities on the west coast of Florida with unique security requirements. County custodial employees also maintain our 4 garage facilities, Joe Chillura Park and the Central Chiller Plant.
Grounds Contract Management
Ramon (Tony) Lopez, Landscape Crew Leader oversees the grounds maintenance activities of 4 contract providers inspecting and approving work performed. Facilities Support Services maintains 69 County-owned properties. One component of our grounds maintenance contract is a Small Business Enterprise set-aside.
