Administrative Branch
The Administrative Branch is commanded by Assistant Chief Ron Rogers and consists of four sections: Plans/Specs, Fiscal Services,
Facility/Supply and Fleet Shop (78th St.).
Fiscal Services
This section provides departmental support in the functional areas of accounting/budgeting, billing/insurance claims, and reception.
The Accounting Team is responsible for maintaining the correct balance in the accounts receivable system and tracks all fiscal transactions, including
bank deposits, cash payments, and refunds. The team also tracks current budget expenditures, balances, and projects expenditures for the department's $111
million + annual budget. The Billing and Claims Team processes approximately 32,000 transports annually. In conjunction with the contracted billing company,
they manage all ambulance transport and response accounts. The revenue generated through the efforts of the team accounts for approximately $6 million
in annual collections.
Facility / Supply
This section is responsible for two very important functions: facility maintenance and supply.
The Facility side of this section's responsibility consists of providing routine and emergency maintenance to 46 separate stations/locations. This
includes 41 fire stations, 2 stand alone rescue stations, and two office complexes (Hanna Avenue and 78th Street). In addition to maintenance, they are
charged with the procurement of all capital and non-capital operating equipment for the stations.
The Supply side of this section is charged with the responsibility to purchase, warehouse, inventory and deliver all medical, pharmaceutical, firefighting,
vehicle maintenance and janitorial equipment and supplies required by the fire and rescue operation's personnel. They also maintain supplies required for
the operation of the fleet shop and office complexes. Section personnel are on call for weekend or after hours emergencies, mass casualty incidents, etc.
to provide support as needed. The personnel at this site are also responsible for the management of the Community Service Program. Through this program
we have been able to maintain the buildings and grounds of HCFR headquarters and EOC at minimal expense to the County.
Fleet Shop
Fleet Shop is responsible for preventive maintenance and mechanical repair of all HCFR fire suppression vehicles (engines, ladders, tankers,
etc.) and firefighting tools and equipment (hose, nozzles, saws, rescue equipment, lights, etc). This shop operates a road service truck, which is capable
of doing minor to medium level repairs in the stations, thereby keeping the vehicles and apparatus in service in their areas a higher percentage of the
time. The Chief Mechanic is involved with the development of vehicle specifications, working with the end users, Fleet and the County Purchasing department.
The Chief Mechanic responds to third alarm or greater incidents providing on-scene mechanical assistance and equipment operational advice.
