Hillsborough County Fire Rescue paramedics have opportunities to serve on various specialized teams. The Medical Emergency Response Team is a group of tactical (SWAT) paramedics who work closely with
the Hillsborough County Sheriff's office. MERT team members have specialized training in tactical medicine, law enforcement, and weapons.
