Special Operations Division
 

All Special Operations Units work together to respond to incidents involving unusual situations that the average fire response unit is not trained or equipped for.

Special Operations consists of the following units:

The Medical Emergency Response Team consists of Paramedic personnel assigned to Rescue 37. This group of paramedics provides tactical medical support to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Emergency Response Team (ERT). The MERT paramedics train alongside their Sheriff's department counterparts. This program has been in effect since 1988.
