Get Paid While You Train To Become A Firefighter/EMT
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue is offering an opportunity of a lifetime. We are accepting applications for 10 Fire Medic recruit positions within Hillsborough County fire Rescue to become Firefighter/Paramedics. The application period for Fire Medic Recruit Positions is only open from 10/2/06 to 10/13/06. Hillsborough County Fire Rescue has received funding for 10 positions in an effort to improve the diversity of the department. Interested parties should go online to www.hccsb.org where you can obtain an application to apply for the positions. The application can be completed online but you must print it, sign it and submit by fax, mail, or drop off in person at 601 E. Kennedy Blvd, 17th Floor, Tampa, Fl 33601. Keep in mind that the Civil Service offices are closed on Wednesdays. Starting salary during the recruit period is $23,376/annually w/benefits (health insurance, cafeteria benefit, deferred comp, and regular risk retirement until Firefighter certification is achieved). All expenses for uniforms, equipment, books, & training to the level of EMT and Firefighter are covered by the department. Once the candidate becomes Firefighter/EMT certified, we will seek to place successful candidates into Fire Medic Trainee positions which will result in a significant pay increase and Florida Hire Risk Retirement. Fire Medic Trainees will be required to obtain Paramedic certification on their own within two years of being placed into that position.
