Brush Fires Dont Have a Chance!

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue has prepared itself for the upcoming brush fire season by unveiled it newest and most modern fleet of eleven (11) brush trucks. These trucks are to replace older, worn out equipment and to increase our total fleet of trucks by two (2) additional from nine (9) to eleven (11).

Eight (8) are equipped with 350 gallons of water and 50 gallons of class "A" foam while two (2) others will have 750 gallons of water and one (1) "The Big Boy", will carry 1000 gallons of water in to battle the brush fires.

Although brush firefighting is their main purpose, they are also an additional resource for our Urban Search And Rescue (USAR) teams to deploy into devastated areas immediately following a hurricane or any other natural or manmade disaster.
