Man arrested on 1st degree Arson Charges
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL. - April 11, 2008 10:41 AM What: Man arrested on 1st degree Arson Charges Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire @ 5002 Booth Rd. in Plant City Thursday, April 10 at 4:00 p.m. Plant City Fire Department was the first to arrive on scene and reported smoke showing. Plant City Fire Department initially attacked the fire as Hillsborough County Fire Rescue units arrived and assisted with fire fighting and smoke ventilation. No one was inside the house when the first units arrived. A next door neighbor, who called 911, checked to make sure the residents were out and noticed rags burning on the ground at the edge of the house. He removed them with a garden hoe. The fire was brought under control in about 20 minutes. A Hillsborough County Fire Investigator was called to the scene to investigate a possible arson fire. The investigations lead to the arrest; see Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office report # 08-220205, of Joshua E. Nelson 24 y/o male. He was charged with 1st Degree Arson on a dwelling. The estimated property loss on this incident was $10,000. ###
