Hillsborough County, like many other counties, has grown dramatically over the past 50 years and is presently growing at a rate of about 2.8% annually. The current population is over 700,000 and is expected to be over 850,000 by 2015. Additionally new commercial development and public facilities will be required to support those new residents.

This plan addresses new fire rescue facilities only and does not address renovations and repairs to existing facilities.
