• In April 2010, William Laboy was acknowledged as the Florida Head Start Association's winner of the Support Staff of the Year.
  
  
• The Florida Head Start Association, in April 2010 acknowledged the following respective nominees: Adreion Algere-Harris (parent) Beating the Odds Award, Lakisha Stinson (parent) Scholarship for Head Start Graduates and Kantaporn Waters (staff) for Teacher of the Year.
  
  
• Eighteen parents received college scholarships from the Hillsborough Head Start Community Foundation in June of 2009.
  
  
• In February 2009, Evander Jones was recognized as the 2007-2008 Father of the Year Award from the Florida Head Start Association.
  
  
• The Hillsborough County Domestic Violence Task Force recognized Laura Rice, Community Outreach Coordinator with Hillsborough County Head Start/Early Head Start, with the “Achievements Against Domestic Violence Award” for her leadership and enthusiasm for collaborations amongst domestic violence providers.
  
  
• In Feb. 2009, the Florida Head Start Association and the Region IV Head Start Association are recognizing Juana Miller as Teacher of the Year, Annie Bolling as Nutrition Specialist of the Year and Kristin Santos as Head Start Alumnus of the Year. Acknowledged for their exceptional work with children and families, these three outstanding performers traveled to Atlanta, Georgia to accept their awards in front of thousands of peers and friends from throughout the country
