III. Guidelines for Performance Management Behaviors - Interpersonal Skills
 

Degree to which the individual works effectively with internal and external "customers" and responds positively to situations which require internal and external collaboration and communication. Deals effectively with subordinates, peers and supervisors and contributes to teamwork.

Lacks effective interpersonal skills. Uncooperative and
often insensitive to the need for teamwork. Is not responsive to the needs of others. Communications are often unorganized and difficult to understand.

At times, deals ineffectively with internal and external
contacts. Is cooperative and courteous, but sometimes fails to recognize the needs of others and the necessity to collaborate with the team. Communications are sometimes poorly organized and difficult to understand.
3 Establishes effective relationships with internal and
external contacts. Cooperates willingly. Recognizes and responds to the needs of others and is an effective team member. Uses tact in dealing with others. Integrates his/her efforts well with others. Communications are clear, accurate and understandable.
4 Deals effectively with internal and external contacts.
Collaborates and freely offers assistance to associates. Shows enthusiasm for work and organization. Exhibits high degree of cooperation in efforts involving others. Communications are very well organized, accurate and easily understood.
5 Consistently deals effectively and professionally with all internal and external contacts. Has outstanding ability to identify and respond to the needs of others. Outstanding intra-departmental collaboration. Shows high level of motivation to assist and work with others. Generates enthusiasm. Communications are consistently superior.
