| Christina Swanson has been Division Director of Risk Management &
Employee Benefits in the Human Resources Department of Hillsborough County
Government since April 2004. During this time she has proven herself invaluable
to the employees of Hillsborough County who are enrolled in the County’s
self-funded health care plan by implementing several new options for the
employees on a voluntary basis.
Ms. Swanson has 29 years of professional experience in both public and private sector employee
benefits. Previously, she has served as the Director of Employee Benefits and Risk Management for the
School Board of Hillsborough County, a consultant for various Florida public sector entities, and benefits
manager for Fortune 200 companies. She is an accomplished speaker in the area of health care and has
published many articles dealing with health care cost containment.
Ms. Swanson received a Bachelor of Arts from Western Reserve University in Ohio, a Master of Arts
from Kent State University and her Juris Doctor from Cleveland Marshall College of Law. She is admitted
to the Ohio Bar.
