The Social Services Department provides comprehensive case management programs as well as stabilization services to low-income residents of Hillsborough County.

MISSION

The Social Services Department's mission is to improve the quality of life of Hillsborough County's most vulnerable citizens by promoting self-sufficiency through interactive service delivery and strategic partnerships.

CUSTOMERS

The Social Services Department serves the most vulnerable citizens in the county requiring stability or long-term, comprehensive case management services including basic living needs, housing, education and training. Programs and services are provided at five Community Resource Centers throughout Hillsborough County. In addition, staff is deployed to remote sites and partnering agencies to provide specialized services through the County. 

AVAILABLE SERVICES:
  • Utilities / Energy Assistance 
  • Adult Education and Training (GED, Technical Training)   
  • Homeless Prevention / Rental Assistance
  • Youth Development (Scholarships, College Prep, Year Round Youth Engagement)   
  • Aftermath of a local disaster
  • Other programs and services may be available

Household Income Determines Eligibility for Assistance

Depending on the program, the applicant is required to meet different percentages of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Please refer to the chart below for details.  
 
The Federal Poverty Guidelines listed below will be effective beginning April 1, 2016.
