Mission Statement |
The Hillsborough Board of County Commissioners appointed the HealthCare Study Committee in March 2005 to re-evaluate the
structure of the Hillsborough HealthCare Program and recommend changes that will result in
the best service for residents and protecting the long-term financial viability of this critical program.

| About the Hillsborough HealthCare Program Study Committee |

The Hillsborough Board of County Commissioners appointed the HealthCare Study Committee on March 2, 2005 to re-evaluate the
structure of the Hillsborough HealthCare Program and recommend
changes that will result in the best service for residents and protecting the long-term financial viability of this
critical program.
The report of the committee is targeted for completion by the end of summer 2005. Initially, the report will be reviewed by the
County’s Health Care Advisory Board and then forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners for comments.
Some key goals of the committee are to:
- Explore several models of local health care administration and programs
- Ensure the best product possible within the vision
and budget of the program
- Streamline efficiency, especially with regards to health care provision
- Encourage a preventive health care program, instead
of curative
