BOCC Land Use Meeting -
LIVE at 9 A.M. and 1:30 P.M., normally on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month, and then replayed at least 3 times: at Midnight on that Wednesday evening, at 8 A.M. on the following Saturday and at Midnight the following Monday evening.

The Board of County Commissioners' review of rezoning matters is restricted to the record presented at Zoning Hearing Master hearings; no new evidence may be presented and only "parties of record" may speak. Parties of record are those who received mailed notice about the rezoning or who spoke at the Zoning Hearing Master hearing.

BOCC Public Hearing Meeting -
LIVE as scheduled by the BOCC. Before the Board Of County Commissioners takes action on significant matters, it holds hearings for public comments. These are formally advertised to inform the public of their date and time. 

  BOCC Regular Meeting -
Regular Board of County Commissioners meetings are presented LIVE at 9 A.M. and 1:30 P.M., usually on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month. They are replayed at least three times: at Midnight that (Wednesday) evening, at 8 A.M. the following Saturday and at Midnight the following Monday night.

The Hillsborough County Commission approves operating and capital budgets, directs the County's capital improvement program and performs all other legislative functions of county government. In regular meetings, the seven-member Board can take action on any programs to improve the County and the welfare of its residents. Public participation is included in the regular agenda.

BOCC Town Hall -
Once each quarter, your Board of County Commissioners travels to an auditorium away from County Center to hear from the most important speakers who can address them: you. Residents are welcomed to speak to the Commission in person or call in their comments and questions.

HTV22 presents these Town Hall Meetings LIVE with several replays. Before the meeting, you can see interviews and staff presentations from booths outside the meeting room.

BOCC Workshop Meeting -
LIVE at 9:00am and 1:30pm on 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month. Informal, public discussions among the County Commissioners may include limited public comments and allow the BOCC to throughly explore specific topics.



Citizens Advisory Committee Meeting -
LIVE at 8:30am on the 4th Friday of the month. This committee advises the BOCC, ensuring citizen input on a wide variety of issues that directly affect the community. The 14 CAC members are appointed by County Commissioners to two year terms.

Environmental Protection Commission Meeting -
LIVE at 10:00am on the 3rd Thursday of the month; replayed at 11:30pm on the following Monday and Tuesday. Created by the 1967 state legislature to locally regulate activities which may reasonably be expected to cause pollution or contamination of air, water, soil, and property, or excessive and unnecessary noise, the EPC has environmental jurisdiction throughout Hillsborough County, including the cities of Tampa, Temple Terrace and Plant City. The seven County Commissioners comprise the EPC and elect a chair from among their membership.

HARTline Meeting -
LIVE at 8:30am on the 1st Monday of the month. The Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority provides for public bus transportation. This 12-member board is appointed by the BOCC, the cities of Tampa and Temple Terrace and the Governor to manage HARTline with authority to levy an annual property tax of up to 0.5 mils.

Juvenile Justice Council Meeting -
LIVE at 10:30am on the 3rd Friday of the month. The Juvenile Justice Council fosters collaboration among citizens, neighborhoods and community partners to eliminate juvenile delinquency in Hillsborough County. Council membership includes Constitutional Officers responsible for public safety and other local leaders.

MPO Meeting -
LIVE at 9:00am on the 1st Tuesday of the month. The MPO is the long-range transportation planning agency for all of Hillsborough County, responsible for considering local, state and federal funding priorities on transportation projects. The MPO maintains the comprehensive "2015 Long-Range Transportation Plan" and sets policies relating to area transportation plans. The MPO's existence qualifies the County as an urbanized area for federal and other transportation funds. Members are elected officials representing each local jurisdiction: Hillsborough County, Tampa, Temple Terrace and Plant City.

Planning Commission Meeting -
LIVE at 2:00pm on the 2nd Monday of the month. The Hillsborough County City-County Planning Commission is an independent, consolidated planning agency, led by 10 citizen appointees from all 4 local jurisdictions: Plant City, Temple Terrace, Tampa and Hillsborough County. It serves all citizens in the County by providing a vision for improving the quality of life.

The Planning Commission promotes and coordinates comprehensive long-range planning, growth management, transportation, and environmental protection. It makes recommendations to the local jurisdictions regarding land use, neighborhood planning, capital improvements, urban design and other comprehensive plan issues.

Public Safety Coordinating Council Meeting -
LIVE at 8:00am on a 3rd Friday (bimonthly). The PSCC serves as an advisory body to the BOCC for matters relating to criminal justice. The council evaluates criminal justice systems and programs, comments on grant requests, recommends changes in public and private systems and programs and their funding; promotes consolidation and/or coordination of said systems and programs; accepts funding and recommends appropriate policies and expenditures to further these ends.

Public Transportation Meeting -
LIVE at 8:00am on a 2nd Wednesday (bimonthly). The PTC regulates operations of taxicabs, limousines, vans, handicabs, wreckers and basic life support ambulances in Hillsborough County. It supervises and regulates all "for hire" vehicles in matters affecting the relationship between such operations and the traveling public. These matters include safety, equipment cleanliness and qualifications of operators.

The PTC sets and approves zones, rates, fares and charges. It makes classifications, rules and regulations. The PTC is comprised of seven appointees from the Board of County Commissioners (3), City of Tampa (2), City of Temple Terrace (1) and Plant City (1).

  Tampa Bay Water Meeting -
This inter-governmental agency provides wholesale water to Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties, plus the cities of New Port Richey, St. Petersburg and Tampa. There are nine directors: each county appoints two, each city has one.

The Board of Directors meets monthly (3rd Mondays) at the Tampa Bay Water office: 2535 Landmark Drive, Suite 211, Clearwater, Florida 33761-3930. Meetings are recorded by Tampa Bay Water and cablecast on HTV22 at least 2 times during the following 3 weeks.

Tourist Development Council Meeting -
LIVE at 3:00pm on a 2nd Thursday (quarterly). The Council prepares the plan for the BOCC that proposes uses for tourist development tax revenue, monitors trust fund spending and makes recommendations for developing tourism. The BOCC Chairman chairs the council; other members are appointed by the BOCC to four-year terms. They include two elected municipal officials, three owner/operators of tourist accommodations and three others from the tourism industry.

Zoning Hearing Master Meeting -
LIVE as hearings are scheduled. Qualified professionals in fields of planning and land use are appointed by the BOCC as Zoning Hearing Masters. These individuals conduct public hearings and make recommendations on all rezoning requests in Hillsborough County. In each hearing, the applicant has an opportunity to present the request. County staff comment about their review of the application and any member of the public may speak. Following the hearing, the Zoning Hearing Master makes a written recommendation for approval or denial to the BOCC.
