Commission on the Status of Women
This Commission was created to study and make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on issues pertaining to the status of women, including; discrimination, employment, education, day care, and health care.  These recommendations are presented as comprehensive reports to the Board and distributed to the public and interested parties.

Membership:

The membership of this board shall be appointed by the BOCC and shall be comprised of 15 members.  Composition is as follows: 
   
  • Hillsborough County Commissioners - one member each

The Board of Directors of the following organizations shall each provide a nomination to the BOCC:

  • The Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce
  • The Centre 
  • League of Women Voters of Hillsborough County
  • The Spring
  • Hispanic Professional Women's Association, Inc.
  • National Council of Negro Women
  • University of South Florida
  • Hillsborough Community College

Terms:
Members shall serve four year terms.

Authority:
Board of County Commissioner's Resolution R-03-74; as amended by R-04-174; as amended by R07-059.

Meetings:
At least ten times a year.
