Gornto Lake Road Extension

Project Description:
The existing Gornto Lake Road contains a mixture of commercial and residential uses. Due to the increase of residential and commercial development into the Brandon area, there was a need for an additional north-south corridor between SR 60 and Lumsden Road. Constructing the Gornto Lake Road Extension (from south of Brandon Blvd (SR 60) to approximately 800 feet of the Brandon Town Center) would improve traffic flow in the area and help relieve congestion at the interstate access and the shopping mall.
- The project consists of the construction of approximately 0.738 miles of a four lane divided roadway with turn lanes, from south of Brandon Boulevard (HWY 60) to approximately 800 ft south of Town Center Boulevard.

- Time For Completion: 365 calendar days
- Construction Start Date: October 8th, 2012
- Estimated Completion Date: Late 2013

Project Timeline:
The project is under construction and on schedule. Clearing and grubbing and installation of erosion devices are underway.
No road closures or lane closures are scheduled at this time and no work will be done at the intersection of Gornto Lake Road and Town Center Boulevard until after the Christmas holidays. Work Order issued on Oct. 19, 2012 |
