Fire Chief
Ron Rogers, Fire Chief at Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, oversees a department which services an area of 931 square miles and a population of 832,340 with approximately 1,019 career personnel and 250 reserve responders, and a $126+ million budget.


He has served in various positions during his 28 years with Hillsborough County.

In addition to these positions, he has served as the Program Manager for Florida Task Force-3 (an Urban Search and Rescue team) for thirteen years. As the leader of this 210 member team, he has overseen its deployment to eight major hurricanes (including Hurricane Katrina), a tornado and a several structural collapse incidents.

Chief Rogers has been an active participant in the Domestic Security planning process with the State of Florida since 1999 and currently serves on the Regional Domestic Security Task Force and the Executive Board of the State Working Group on Domestic Security.
