Overview

The Development Services Department prepares text amendments to the Land Development Code periodically. Land Development Code Amendments are considered by the Board of County Commissioners in public hearings.

2016 Land Development Code Amendments - Link to Key Dates

  • LDC 16-1069: Alcoholic Beverage Use
    The purpose of this amendment is to revise standards for the 4-COP-RX alcoholic beverage special use classification, to reflect recent State changes made by House Bill Number 1417, which amended the space requirements for alcoholic beverage licenses for restaurants in Hillsborough County from a requirement of 4,000 square feet to a requirement of 2,500 square feet of gross floor capacity, which includes the gross floor area as well as covered patio area of the restaurant.   • LDC 16-1070: Passive Agricultural Activities as an Interim Use
    The purpose of this amendment is to expand the circumstances under which interim passive agricultural activities are allowed on parcels that are not agriculturally zoned. Project Manager: John E. Healey, AICP Executive Planner, 813-276-8393.

  • LDC 16-1071: Irrigation
    The purpose of this amendment is to expand the type of automatic systems that may be utilized to prevent unnecessary watering by irrigation systems during periods or sufficient rainfall or soil moisture. Project Manager: John E. Healey, AICP Executive Planner, 813-276-8393.






Applying for a Land Development Code (LDC) Amendment
Amendments are initiated by submitting a text amendment application. If the amendment is initiated by an individual or entity outside the county, they must first attend a mandatory application pre-submittal conference and then submit the application and pay the fee by appointment.
