Want Your Opinion Known? The "Pro-Con" Report

The Office of the Hillsborough County Legislative Delegation will let the 16 legislators from Hillsborough County know your opinion on the issues pending before the Legislature. You can reach all 16 through one message to the Delegation office; however, if you prefer to contact each individually, you may click on each of their websites, which include contact information, from the Delegation Members area of this site.

To use the Delegation office service, please contact the Hillsborough County Legislative Delegation.

Your message should be brief and to the point. Examples include:

  • I support SJR 938 and SB 1106 relating to sales tax reform.
  • I oppose SJR 938 and SB 1106 relating to sales tax reform.
  • I want my Legislators to vote "Yes" to putting sales tax reform on the ballot.
  • I want my Legislators to vote "No" to putting sales tax reform on the ballot.
  • I think HJR 1131 which would allow citizens to amend the Florida Statutes by initiative is a great idea! Put it on the ballot!
  • I hate the idea of allowing citizens to amend the Florida Statutes by initiative, please keep it off the ballot!

A Special Note

Take time to read proposed bills before taking a stand on them (www.leg.state.fl.us). They frequently contain more changes than the one or two that have caused a "flash point" (and have generated legislative contact). You might find yourself in the same posture that Legislators frequently find themselves in when considering the issues: How do you vote if you think parts of a bill are the greatest thing that could ever happen to Florida, only to discover that other parts of the same bill are abhorrent to you? If you make that discovery, be specific about what you support or what you'd like to see amended out before enactment.

Your message must include your name and full home address in order for us to be able to pass it along to the Legislators.

This service does not include sending your message to Legislators who represent other parts of the state, the Governor, or anyone other than the 16-member Hillsborough Legislative Delegation.
