Hillsborough County has a large population of different racial, cultural and ethnic makeup. Hillsborough County has answered
the need for inclusion and diversity with diverse recruitment, hiring and promotions, as well as mandated diversity training. In
1992, Hillsborough County went one step further with the establishment of the Community Liaisons.
Community Liaisons promote diversity within Hillsborough County through outreach, events and publications. They track trends
and identify and assist to resolve problems. Community Liaisons include a representative for the Americans with Disabilities
Act, African-American Affairs, Asian-American Affairs, and Hispanic Affairs.
