Welcome to the Hillsborough County
Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department (PRC).
Our department is the "Heart of Hillsborough" with more
than 70,000 acres of parkland; 42 year-round recreation
centers offering activities and classes for all ages;
therapeutic programs; youth and adult athletics; and
partnerships with community and civic organizations
throughout the county.
PRC's dedicated, professional staff and devoted volunteers serve over 9 million residents annually. It's
one of the largest departments of its kind in the Southeastern United States.

- Alafia Challenge --- November 8th---The Alafia Challenge is a canoe and kayak race down the lower Alafia River, located in southern Hillsborough County, Florida. The race is from Lithia Springs county park to the Riverview Civic Center, a distance of about 11 miles.
