Jerry Sparks was hired in November 2005 as the Division Director of Building Services and as the designated Building Official for the unincorporated areas of Hillsborough County.

Jerry has been licensed as an architect in the State of Florida since 1987. He was originally licensed as an architect in 1975, and has held a NCARB certificate since 1977. He has been certified as a standard building code administrator (building official) in the State of Florida since 1993, and has been certified as a floodplain manager since 2002. Since 1993, Jerry has served as the designated Building Official for the City of St. Petersburg, Sarasota County and the City of St. Pete Beach.
