The mandatory purchase requirement applies to all forms of Federal or Federally related financial assistance for buildings located in a Special Flood Hazard Area (SPHA). This requirement affects loans and grants for the purchase, construction, repair, or improvement of any publicly or privately-owned buildings in the (SPHA). You may obtain information regarding the County's participation in the National Flood Insurance Program, and you can receive your Flood Zone designation by contacting the Development Services Division at 272-5600. A Floodplain Elevation Certificate may be obtained and completed by a land surveyor, engineer, or architect who is authorized by law to certify elevation information.
