 On February 10, 2004, the County Commission directed staff updating the Truck Route Plan to allow more time for additional technical analysis and community meetings. A Truck Route Plan Technical Committee (TRP-TC) was formed which included representatives from various governmental agencies such as the Sheriff�s Office, City of Tampa and the EPC, as well as representatives from various Hillsborough County Departments. The purpose of the Committee was to define current problems and establish founding principles and goals, then agree on methodology and assumptions. The Committee collected and analyzed technical data, and made staff recommendations to present to the public at neighborhood meetings that were advertised in the local newspaper. Roads throughout the County were examined and evaluated for their suitability to serve as designated truck routes. A final report with staff recommendations was presented to the Board of County Commissioners at a public hearing in December, 2004. The current Hillsborough County Truck Route Plan was adopted by Resolution R05-022 on January 5, 2005.
