The zoning Counseling Center provides zoning information for properties, and information about changing the use of properties, located in the unincorporated areas of Hillsborough County. Inquiries for information on properties located in the city limits of Tampa, Temple Terrace or Plant City must be made directly to the zoning department of the appropriate city.
To determine whether a piece of property is located in the city limits of Tampa, Temple Terrace or Plant City, or whether it is in unincorporated Hillsborough County, visit the Property Appraiser’s Office web site. There the property information can be found by using the tax folio number, street address or owner’s name. The “Tax District” at the top of the property information page will identify which area the property is located in.
Zoning Counseling services are provided on a walk-in basis, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Customers must provide the counselors with either the property’s tax folio number or the street address. Zoning Counselors will review the Land Development Code (LDC) requirements with the customer.
