This service area provides customer information and assistance for issues related to the zoning on properties in unincorporated Hillsborough County. This includes the types of uses allowed on a particular property and information about changing the zoning or use of a parcel. It also includes information related to parcel setback requirements or other special conditions impacting the use of the parcel. Staff also provides assistance and information regarding zoning-related code enforcement cases or issues.
To determine whether a piece of property is located in the city limits of Tampa, Temple Terrace or Plant City, or whether it is in unincorporated Hillsborough County, visit the Property Appraiser’s Office web site. There the property information can be found by using the tax folio number, street address or owner’s name. The “Tax District” at the top of the property information page will identify which area the property is located in.
Zoning Counseling services are provided on a walk-in basis, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Customers must provide the counselors with either the property’s tax folio number or the street address. Zoning Counselors will review the Land Development Code (LDC) requirements with the customer. |
