Rezoning Pre-Submittal Conferences are available by appointment only and are designed to allow applicants the opportunity to discuss proposed zoning changes with County staff. Typically, applicants can expect to receive information on possible zoning district options, staff issues/concerns, time frames, rezoning application submittal requirements and associated fees.
Rezoning Pre-Submittal Conferences are mandatory for applicants requesting a Planned Development (PD) zoning district. The mandatory pre-submittal conference must be held with County staff prior to submitting a rezoning application.
Rezoning Pre-Submittal Conferences for applicants requesting other zoning actions (i.e., Standard District rezoning, Special Use permit, modifications to an existing Planned Development) are voluntary. As an alternative to a voluntary Rezoning Pre-Submittal Conference, the Zoning Counseling Center offers informal zoning counseling sessions on a walk-in basis, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (see contact information above). Certain situations may prompt the zoning staff to recommend a voluntary Rezoning Pre- Submittal Conference. Therefore, a walk-in counseling session with a Zoning Counselor is recommended prior to filing any rezoning application.
