• Serves as the voice of Hillsborough County government through the Communications Department and through its Intergovernmental Relations section.
  
  
• Communicates information about programs and services provided by Hillsborough County government to the county's citizens, to members of the U.S. Congress, to the Florida Legislature, and to other local elected and appointed officials.
  
  
• Develops and coordinates the State and Federal Legislative Programs on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners and the County Administrator.
  
  
• Represents the Board of County Commissioners and the County Administrator to the Governor, the Cabinet, the Florida Legislature, and the United States Congress.
  
  
• Serves as staff to the Board of County Commissioners' Citizens Advisory Committee and the Hillsborough County Council of Governments.
  
  
• Serves as staff to the Commission on the Status of Women, which was created by the Board of County Commissioners in April 2003.
  
  
• Serves as staff to the Hillsborough County Council of Governments.
  
  
• Represents the Board of County Commissioners and the County Administrator in fostering relationships with the school board, cities, and local communities.
