The Public Art Ordinance establishes the County's Public Art Program and allows the Board of County Commission to acquire artwork of exceptional quality for general public access throughout the County.

Since 1989, Hillsborough County has successfully completed more than 25 public art projects. A variety of artwork comprises the public art collection that seeks to visually enhance the aesthetic quality of public spaces and buildings; promote the understanding and awareness of tangible works of art in the public environment; and expands the opportunity for Hillsborough County citizens to experience public art.
