| Project Description:
The new multi-purpose gymnasium at All People’s Life Center Park
is inclusive in design to provide a place where individuals with disabilities
can participate in all activities without experiencing physical or psychological
barriers. The gym will be a recreational / sports facility where people
with various disabilities are provided an opportunity for inclusion and
to reach out and participate in new adventures with others. The Sports
Complex will include a full size barrier free basketball court, fitness
center, offices, meeting rooms and related support spaces. The gymnasium
will accommodate a variety of activities including sports, fitness training,
performing arts and special events. |

Artwork Goals
The selected artwork should encourage participation in activities by
people of all abilities. The experience at All People’s Multi-purpose
Gym is designed to be inclusive, fun and educational, the artwork should
reflect this. |

| Opportunities for Public Art |
Main Entrance
The primary drop-off / pick-up area for the facility contains several opportunities
including the covered entrance and a retention pond. This area also features
a covered walkway to the All People’s Life Skills Center. Entrance
Lobby
This two story atrium where patrons are greeted upon arrival will be a
busy and highly visible public space.
Parking Entrance
A significant number of patrons will be entering the facility through
this highly visible entrance due to the adjacent parking lot.
